‘Tis the season of giving and here at Outreach we are busier than ever! I am always amazed at the enthusiasm and passion for STEM Outreach here in MN. Back in October, at WE18 we had the privilege to host the biggest Women in engineering conference and with that event comes Invent It Build It. Since June, 20 committee members have been planning this event for our community. Over 100 high schooler, 300 middle schoolers and 200 parent/educators from our community participated in the all-day event on October 20th. This could not have been possible without the 100-plus volunteers from all over the world. Girls, high schoolers and middle schools, got to see first-hand how they could “Break Boundaries” just like their mentors. Thank you all for supporting this event by either getting friends to sign up their kids, participating in panel discussions, going on the Saturday morning news to advertise the event, or mentoring during the event.
This past weekend we continued our Girl Scout Product Designer Patch Day for the 16th year. Thank you Nicolette Marquardt and the rest of Boston Scientific Team that sponsored and led this great event. We had over 100 girl scouts participating and 50 volunteers!
If you missed out on either of those two events do not worry we will be starting the new year with DaVinci Fest in Stillwater and Spark Slime Speed (Sponsored by UTAS). Look out for signup links in the weekly newsletter soon!
